With a new supported connection from its CS 3500 intraoral scanner to exocad software, Carestream Dental is providing CAD/CAM customers with a way to send digital cases directly to dental labs.
The open-architecture scanner captures digital impressions in a standard STL file format, and they can now be sent directly to labs using exocad software using the company’s dentalshare cloud service, according to a press release. The service allows for enhanced collaborations such as lab-assisted chairside CAD/CAM and the complete transfer of complex and large cases. As a part of the partnership, exocad resellers will be able to offer their customers CS 3500 scanners to help move their dentist clients to digital dental technologies.
