A new partnership between America’s ToothFairy: National Children’s Oral Health Foundation (NCOHF) the American Pharmacists Association Foundation (APhA) is being formed to bring attention to untreated oral disease in children.
The collaboration came together because with 1 in 5 children not receiving dental care, pharmacists are an accessible health care provider who can help raise awareness and address the issue, according to a press release.
Throughout National Children’s Dental Health Month in February NCOHF will hold its second annual Smile Drive to collect oral health care products for at-risk children. Pharmacists, dental practices and other groups are encouraged to participate by collecting materials and hosting educational events.
