A pair of new dental CAM software applications from Delcam are designed for use with Roland DGA’s tabletop dental mills.
DentMILL for Roland is a CAM application for the production of zirconia, wax or PMMA crowns and bridges with the Roland DWX-50 mill, and DentMILL for Roland Express is designed for the DWX-4 mill. Both new applications are based on Delcam’s DentMILL CAM software application and include automated machining templates designed specifically for the Roland mills, according to a press release. DentMILL for Roland includes both 5-axis and 3-axis toolpaths, while DentMILL for Roland Express includes just 3-axis toolpaths.
Both applications allow toolpaths to be calculated on the first restoration in the block in the background while other restorations are being positioned in the same block. The applications also provide efficiencies by allowing all operations of a single tool to be completed on all restorations before the mill switches to a different tool, among other features.
