Guru Dental Announces Major Software Upgrade for Guru Patient Education Software

Reno, N.V.: Guru Dental announced a major software upgrade for its Guru Case Presentation Software, turning the best patient education software into even more – the world’s best patient experience software. Users of the current version, Guru 5, already enjoy advanced features like Guru’s patented Stop, Draw, & Teach Technology™ and an interface based upon the science of visual learning. With the Guru 6 upgrade, Guru Dental is adding three new features; an online Health history, a patient-specific Risk Assessment, and a unique marketing feature which allows the practice to customize marketing messages specific to the patient and their particular interests (i.e. teeth whitening offer to tobacco users).

The Online Health History allows the patient and the practice to save time and effort with paper forms, and the information provided is maintained in a secure database to support the other new functionality.
Once the Health History is completed, patients automatically receive a Risk Assessment highlighting areas of their health they may want to discuss with their dentist. Relevant Guru educational animations are included with the Assessment, thus preparing the patient for their visit and subsequent discussion. “In an age when more and more patients are aware of the Oral-Systemic Health connection, this type of functionality is exactly the type of tool practices need to bridge the awareness gap with patients”, says Mr. Henriksen.
The information collected becomes even more valuable when the practice decides to use it as marketing information. Within Guru 6, e-mails can be generated based on specific response to the Health history. Thus, patients ‘who snore’ can be sent information on sleep apnea services, or patients who ‘use tobacco’ can receive smoke cessation and/or whitening offers. The targeted marketing possibilities are endless.
Pricing & Availability
The Guru 6 Upgrade is being shipped to existing customers immediately. The general release will take place on February 1st, 2014. The upgrade is 100% FREE to all Guru owners currently subscribed to Guru’s Content Enhancement Plan (CEP). Guru owners who renew their CEP plan prior to the general release date (Feb. 1) will get the Guru 6 upgrade for free. General release pricing has not been finalized, but is expected to be at least 20% more than Guru 5’s current pricing.
