Designed to provide dental laboratories with precision milling capabilities in a compact package at an affordable price, the DWX-4 from Roland DGA is an open-architecture, 4-axis dental mill.
Capable of milling a range of materials including zirconia, PMMA and wax, the DWX-4 is simple to use and priced at less than $18,000, making it ideal for labs getting started with CAD/CAM production or those needing to expand their production capabilities, according to a press release.
Measuring 13 x 14 x 16 inches, the mill can fit on a counter or benchtop. It is controlled from a computer workstation via Roland’s Virtual Machine Panel (VPanel) and provides automatic calibration, automatic tool changing and bundled open-architecture CAM software that accepts standard STL files. Up to four DWX-4 mills can be controlled from the same workstation, and an automatic diagnostic system can send users an email if an error occurs.
