 National Institutes of Health Awards $2.8 Million for Dental Composite Research

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announced it has awarded six grants totaling $2.8 million to fund research into the development of longer lasting dental composite materials.

Each grant will fund a five year research effort seeking to double the service life of dental composites, according to a press release. The funded research aims to pair material scientists, polymer chemists and microbiologists to study ways to make dental composites perform even better after placement.
