PalaMeter, a Clinical Measurement Tool from Heraeus Kulzer, Wins U.S. Patent

The PalaMeter prosthetic measurement device from Heraeus Kulzer was recently awarded a U.S. patent.

A multi-purpose measurement tool made from a flexible material, the PalaMeter is designed to be an easy to use tool for capturing a range of clinical measurements that often need to be communicated between the clinical practice and the dental lab, according to a press release.

The PalaMeter is capable of measuring the width of a gap; the esthetic curve; dimensions for implantology; appliance width; the vertical dimension; the dental arch; the height of incisal length; and the position of the mandibular arch in relation to the maxilla, as well as determining the lowest point of the alveolar ridge profile; marking the molar point; drawing a 22.5° angle starting from the occlusion center; defining a definitive dental stop line; finding and marking the midline; checking symmetries; marking without parallax errors; and determining angles between tooth surfaces.
