Gutta Percha Points

The go-to endodontic obturation material for many years, gutta percha points are used to fill canals following shaping and cleaning during root canal treatments. Produced from the coagulated latex of trees native to Malaysia, gutta percha is a natural material that is heated and then compressed into the canal. Gutta percha points are designed in various sizes to fit in different canals, and many companies that produce endodontic files also produce corresponding gutta percha points. When selecting GP points, be sure to have multiple sizes on hand to be ready for any canal you encounter.

DescriptionStandardized Gutta Percha Points are sized to correspond to the dimensions of Kerr standardized endodontic instruments. They are readily softened by Autofit Backfill gutta percha cone sizes directly correspond with the sizes of the Buchanan Heat Pluggers. Once the initial downpack is complete, Non-Standard gutta percha cones exhibit a larger, continuous taper all the way up the cone than does ISO gutta percha. These cones are feathered ISO standard gutta percha directly matches the ISO standard-sized .02 taper files. ISO gutta percha is ideal for MicroSeal or cold lateral TF Gutta Percha cones are specifically made for use with the TF Rotary NiTi File System.
