Dental lab light curing units are used in dentistry to cure resin based composites used in dental and orthodontic appliances. The light source may be LED, halogen, xenon, laser or even ultraviolet. The necessary light wavelength for composite curing is between 400-500 nm. Dental curing lights that use LED lighting are often lighter and more portable than their halogen counterparts, LED lighting does not give off the heat that halogen does, eliminating the need for an internal fan. Curing times for most units is often less than 20 seconds. Features can include various intensity levels, preset timer intervals and ergonomic design. Be sure the vendor chosen is reputable and includes a product warranty.
