Chairside Milling Systems

The CAM portion of a dental CAD/CAM workflow, chairside dental mills use a rapidly spinning bur to grind away material and carve a dental restoration from a solid block of ceramic, resin or other material. Guided by the dental CAD/CAM software, these mills turn 3D designs into restorations that can be placed in a patient’s mouth. Dental mills can be a part of a complete CAD/CAM system or sold on their own to be connected with open architecture digital impression systems via dental CAD/CAM software. When selecting a chairside mill it is important to make sure it is compatible with your digital impression scanner and CAD/CAM software and that it is capable of milling the materials you prefer to use in your practice.
