Provisional glazes are used to bring a natural looking shine and luster to temporary restorations. This can be especially useful when placing long-term temporary restorations in the anterior of the patient's mouth. Most provisional glazes can be light cured quickly after being brushed or painted onto the temporary. These materials often can be applied to direct composite restorations to enhance the esthetics in those cases as well. As with all dental materials, be sure to follow the manufacturer's directions for placement and curing when using the provisional glaze of your choice.
