Officially launched at the recent American Dental Association meeting, AuthAir Dental is an authentication solution that integrates with IT structures of all sizes.
The system is designed to help dental practices keep patient information private and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, according to a press release. It is designed to work in the background, allowing dental practice staff to continue working as they always have. The only change is that team members carry or wear an AuthAir token that interacts with secure workstations to automatically lock and unlock computers when they are close enough. While eliminating the need for passwords and codes, the system creates an audit trail of which team member accessed which computer and what information when.
The improved system features longer token battery life for a lifespan of more than 12 months, along with a more modern look to the design of the tokens themselves. The tokens also have enhanced proximity settings. Additional enhancements include business intelligence features such as fraud detection and workforce analysis.
