Created to help dental practices maintain HIPAA compliance and protect private patient data, AuthAir Dental is a computer authentication solution that uses geofencing to lock and unlock computers.
Designed to integrate into a practice with little to no change in processes, AuthAir Dental uses special tokens that staff members can carry in their pockets or wear on a lanyard. The tokens automatically unlock a workstation when they come within a certain proximity, and the workstation locks itself when there is not a token nearby, according to a press release.
Once a computer workstation has been secured with AuthAir Dental it can only be unlocked when a valid user of that workstation with an AuthAir Dental token is within the specified proximity. The technology helps secure operatory workstations when a hygienist leaves the room and saves time by automatically unlocking the workstation when he or she returns. When unlocked by an AuthAir token, workstations remain on the same screen as when they were locked.
