 Canary System Co-Inventor Wins Canada’s Killam Prize

Professor Andreas Mandelis, a co-founder of Quantum Dental Technologies and co-inventor of The Canary System was recently honored with the 2014 Killam Prize which is awarded to Canadian scholars in recognition of a career in research.

Dr. Mandelis is recognized as a global leader in diffusion-wave and photoacoustic sciences and holds a position with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering. His work includes developing the core technology powering The Canary System’s caries detection capabilities that can spot abnormalities in the crystal structure of a tooth at depths up to 5 mm, according to a press release.
