Heraeus Venus Temp 2 Outperforms Rivals in Studies of Dental Temporary Materials

A pair of studies presented at the recent American Association for Dental Research Annual Meeting found Heraeus Kulzer’s Venus Temp 2 temporary crown and bridge material out performed 3 other provisional materials in flexural strength and fracture toughness.

The studies, conducted by Dr. Ronald Perry and Dr. Masley Harsono with funding from Heraeus Kulzer, looked at flexural loading for the 4 materials and fracture toughness for the same 4 materials. The results showed Venus Temp 2 had the highest scores in both evaluations, according to a press release. However, the material’s strength and fracture resistance were not always statistically significantly higher than all three competitors.
