UCLA School of Dentistry Receives $5 Million to Establish Perio, Implant Research Center

With a $5 million donation, philanthropists Dr. Mick and Mary Dragoo will help the UCLA School of Dentistry create a new center for clinical research and patient care focusing on periodontology and implantology.

The gift, which represents the largest single donation to the dental school, will be used to create the UCLA Mick and Mary Dragoo Periodontal and Implant Clinical Research and Patient Care Center. The center will host independently funded clinical research with a goal of improving oral health around the globe, according to a press release.

Dr. Perry Klokkevold, an associate professor, acting chair and director of the residency program in the section of periodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry will serve as the first director of the Dragoo Periodontal and Implant Center.
