New Dental Digital Impression Systems

There is little doubt that dental digital impression technology is a growing part of the dental industry. These digital intraoral scanners are capable of creating accurate 3D computer models of a patient’s teeth and intraoral tissues for use with either chairside CAD/CAM or for transmission to a dental laboratory for fabrication of the definitive dental restoration. While dental digital impression systems have been around for a number of years, the past 12 or 15 months has seen a wave of new scanners hitting the market, and more are on the way. Here is a comparison of five of the newer dental digital impression systems.
