New Dental Product: Polaroid DDS Imaging Software From Polaroid HealthCare

Polaroid HealthCare recently introduced Polaroid DDS imaging software.

The Windows based imaging program features an open architecture design and has direct integration with most IO x-ray sensors, PSP scanners, intraoral cameras, caries detectors, digital SLR cameras and 2D pan/cephs, according to a press release.

Polaroid DDS was created as a free-standing, open-source imaging software that uses the latest in dental and medical imaging algorithms to produce exceptional images. Clinicians can select filters for each image or assign their favorite to all images. Six variations of an image can be displayed side-by-side, each with a different filter applied. Clinicians can choose which filter provides the best detail, sharpness or contrast whether it’s for general, periodontic or endodontic procedures. This saves time, leads to fewer retakes, helps clinicians make accurate diagnoses and create better treatment plans.

Clinicians can use their existing hardware devices in Polaroid DDS. When it’s time to replace hardware, dentists can choose any brand.

The imaging software is not limited to bridges and has direct integration with many popular practice management programs, often providing two-way communication when available. The software features easy data converters for many imaging programs to accurately convert existing patient images into Polaroid DDS, saving hundreds of hours of exporting.

There are no monthly or yearly fees and the software comes with free lifetime installation, training and support. It is available in more than 25 languages.
