Through a new partnership, the exocad Smile Creator is now integrated into Carestream Dental’s product portfolio, streamlining and simplifying the smile design process.
Once a patient’s teeth have been scanned with a CS 3600 or CS 3700 intraoral scanner, users can directly access the Smile Creator from Carestream Dental’s CS Imaging and CS ScanFlow software, according to a press release.
Once patient photos are uploaded and aligned with digital impressions, the smile can be designed using realistic 2D tooth shapes from exocad’s tooth library.
Facial analysis with help lines and proportional guides help users design the optimal smile for a patient’s anatomy. The solution makes it easy to evaluate the relationship between a patient’s teeth, smile and face, giving clinicians a realistic perspective for a restorative treatment plan. Doctors have control over the design while patients get to see what their new smile could look like.
The 2D designs can be viewed in 3D in real time from different angles. This provides predictability for dentists and allows patients to approve their smile before agreeing to treatment.
