Designed to make capturing digital impressions faster, easier, and more accurate, the Primescan intraoral scanner from Dentsply Sirona is the latest digital impressions system from the maker of the CEREC CAD/CAM System.
Capable of being a standalone digital impression solution, or being connected to a chairside CEREC system, the Primescan features a new, patent pending intraoral scanning technology, according to a press release. This technology uses high-resolution sensors and shortwave light to capture up to one million 3D points per second. Optical high-frequency contrast analysis is used to more accurately calculate the scan data, and the Primescan can scan depths up to 20 millimeters to capture detailed digital models of deep preparations or subgingival areas.
The detailed scan data captured by the Primescan includes all intraoral tissues quickly and accurately, making the scanner ideal for restorative dentistry, orthodontics, implants, and more clinical applications. The new Primescan AC acquisition center features a pivoting touchscreen for ergonomic use, and it is designed for optimal hygenic safety.
