A new connection makes it simple to send digital impressions captured with Carestream Dental's CS 3500 and CS 3600 intraoral scanners to 3M for the production of 3M Clarity Aligners.
The new connection sends the files directly from CS Imaging software to 3M via the CS Connect portal, according to a press release. The new process eliminates the need to export the files from the Carestream software allowing the data to be transferred faster, with fewer clicks. Reducing the number of steps in the process is designed to reduce the potential for errors.
The CS 3600 intraoral scanner is especially well suited for starting clear aligner cases from digital impressions because is quickly and accurately scans dual arches and the scanner software allows the capture of 5 HD 2D intraoral quadrant images that can be extracted from the digital impression. This can eliminate the need to include intraoral photographs for documentation.
