Scans from Carestream Dental’s CS 3600 intraoral scanner are now accepted by Orchestrate Orthodontic Technologies, giving clinicians more options in the orthodontic workflow.
To begin the process, clinicians first take an impression with the CS 3600 scanner, which is well suited for orthodontic cases, according to a press release.
Its high-speed continuous scanning facilitates the capture of dual arches, while three interchangeable tips (normal, side-oriented and posterior) make it easier to scan in difficult to reach places. An Intelligent Matching System allows users to fill in any missing information in the data set.
Once the scan is complete, clinicians can choose to send the open .STL files to Orchestrate for treatment planning and 3D printing; plan the treatment and have Orchestrate 3D print models for aligners or other appliances; or plan and 3D print the case in-office.
