Enhanced Dental Product: CEREC Software 4.5 from Dentsply Sirona

Dentsply Sirona recently released CEREC Software 4.5.

The software has the same features as previous versions, as well as increased process efficiencies and STL exports, according to a press release, making it simpler to plan and produce a CEREC CAD/CAM restoration. Initiated processes continue to run in the background, making the entire procedure faster.

The open system now allows the export of scan data, making new options available to users. Dentists can use CEREC Omnicam scans in cooperation with their dental laboratory or other clinical planning software.

The software’s compact tool bar makes it easy to see all options in one place, saving time. Restorations, such as inlays, onlays, crowns and veneers, are automatically detected by the software. The insertion axis is also defined automatically.

Improved biogeneric initial proposals match patient needs, even in difficult anatomic situations, for improved safety. The software also has a Shade Analysis function that makes it possible to analyze the scan and indicate the tooth color as a Vita Classic or a Vita 3D Master shade.

Restorations can now be prepared in two steps instead of four. The model axis is set and the preparation margin is entered using automatic margin finder. After checking the occlusal and proximal contacts, the milling and grinding process can begin.
