The iTero Element intraoral scanner from Align Technology now features TimeLapse technology, which gives clinicians the ability to compare patient scans over time.
The new technology is part of the scanner’s 1.5 software upgrade that also enables patient scans to be completed in 1 minute, according to a press release. This makes it easy to integrate the scanner into the appointment.
Clinicians also can access new features for intraoral assessment that make it easy to talk with patients about their treatment options, including Invisalign.
With the TimeLapse technology, clinicians can compare a patient's historic 3D scans to the present-day scan, enabling them to identify and measure orthodontic movement, tooth wear, and gingival recession. Multi-Bite scanning, Optimized Scan Feedback, quick shut down, color improvement, and a variety of other features are also available.
