New Dental Product: MyCrown CAD/CAM System from FONA Dental

FONA Dental recently released MyCrown, an integrated chairside CAD/CAM system with a simplified workflow.

The complete chairside CAD/CAM system includes a scanner, software and a manufacturing unit, according to a press release. This makes it possible for clinicians to create crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and small bridges in one visit. The lightweight, compact intraoral scanner, called MyCrown Scan, allows for simple manipulation and minimal patient discomfort.

The MyCrown Design software guides dentists through every step, for smooth performance and ease of use, while block properties are under full control throughout the process.

The MyCrown Mill communicates with the acquisition unit via a wireless connection and can serve multiple acquisition units for easy sharing. It plugs into a power outlet and doesn’t require an air or water line. The two-spindle system, with milling and grinding properties, allows for fast restoration manufacturing. It takes an average of 12 minutes to produce a crown.

The system is open for export of both scans and designed restorations. They can be sent in STL format to the lab. Blocks from various producers are supported.
