A portable, powder-free digital impression system, the Lythos IO Scanner from KaVo is among the many innovations the company is launching during the 2015 International Dental Show.
The Lythos scanner is designed to provide clinicians with a simple scanning process that is comfortable for the patients and then provides flexibility in how the restorative solution is designed and produced, according to details on the KaVo website.
After a scan is completed the restoration can be designed in-house or the digital impression can be uploaded to the KaVo Remote Design Service via a cloud connection. Remote designs can be sent back to the practice for chairside production or sent to an outside production facility. This allows the practice to keep some cases completely chairside while sending more complex cases to digital dental design experts.
