Designed to provide an efficient digital dental workflow, Planmeca’s PlanScan intraoral scanner can now be fully integrated with Planmeca dental units.
The integration of the digital impression scanner with a dental unit allows scans to be shown immediately on the chairside tablet device, and scanning can be controlled from the dental unit’s wireless foot pedal for toggling between prep, opposing and buccal views, according to a press release.
The system can be integrated into any Planmeca dental unit, and the scanner works in a plug-and-play fashion so it can installed to work with different dental units in different operatories. Licensing for the PlanScan system is equally flexible, allowing different team members to work simultaneously on different phases of the chairside CAD/CAM process. The digital impression scans are built into Planmeca’s Romexis software, allowing all patient images including scans and digital x-rays to be stored in one location.
