Griptab Restoration Placement Aid TrioDent Ltd. |

DEXIS Platinum Intraoral Sensor DEXIS |
 |
The DEXIS Platinum intra-oral sensor features a direct USB connection, new image capture technology, and enhanced ergonomic design. Maintaining both the comfort and single-sensor concept of its DEXIS PerfectSize sensor, DEXIS Platinum now combines direct USB connectivity, TrueComfort design, and PureImage technology for a new experience in digital imaging. The sensor is durable and portable for
use in multiple operatories and fieldwork and its integrated USB functionality eliminates the need for adapters, controllers, or docking stations.
For patient comfort and ease-of-use, DEXIS has enhanced the ergonomic sensor housing--the TrueComfort design of the Platinum sensor’s refined beveled corners and its rounded casing ensure that there are no sharp edges against the patient’s tissues. The new smaller, angled dome on the back of the sensor incorporates the patented WiseAngle™ cable exit that increases comfort and efficiency for precise placement. The Platinum sensor also incorporates PureImage technology — a combination of highly sophisticated software and premium-quality hardware components that provides 16,000 shades of gray generated by a 14-bit analog-to-digital converter. The sensor’s high resolution provides more than 20 visible line pairs offering remarkable image clarity and virtually no visual noise. Additionally, an exclusive design maximizes active area at the pixel level, bringing out the smallest details. With a 2.2-megapixel size, images remain crisp when enlarged. The DEXIS Platinum sensor has an enhanced quantum efficiency which makes it very receptive and efficient when capturing X-ray images across a dynamic range of radiation settings. This delivers the ability to reduce the number of retakes due to under- and over-exposure, as well as ultimately lower radiation dosages. The sensor produces optimal, consistent images whether using with the latest intra-oral X-ray unit or an older model.

OS Discs/OS30 Electric Handpiece KOMET USA LLC |
 |
OS (oscillating segment) Discs are designed for safe, efficient interproximal enamel reduction. OS Discs are more effective than manual enamel reduction with lower risk of injuring the soft tissue. OS Discs allow enough vision for the user without the need of a disc guard and provide optimal chip removal.
OS Discs are 60-degree segmented with a radius of only 1.4 cm and a pivoting angle of 30 degrees, allowing access into tight spaces with excellent user control. OS Discs allow the user to correct minor tooth-size discrepancies, eliminate crowding, allowing tooth movement, broaden interproximal contact areas, and improve orthodontic outcomes such as Invisalign® (Align Technology, Inc) procedures. There are 15 different OS Discs--nine with fine-grit diamonds and six with medium-grit diamonds. Out of the 15 OS Discs, eight are one-sided and seven are two-sided, and come in various thicknesses (0.13 mm to 0.45 mm). OS Discs also allow the user to eliminate crowding and reduce enamel for the proper placement of veneers. OS Discs are designed to be used in KOMET's oscillating electric handpiece OS30. When using the micro-motor at full capacity, an effective performance of 5,000 oscillations per minute is reached. It is also possible to use the OS30 in an air motor; and at the motor's maximum capacity, an effective performance of 2,500 oscillations per minutes can be reached. Added 08/06/2009 |

Icon Incipient Caries Treatment DMG America |
 |
Developed to treat incipient caries, Icon is a caries infiltrant that incorporates micro-invasive technology to fill, reinforce, and stabilize demineralized enamel without drilling or sacrificing healthy tooth structure. Bridging the gap between prevention (fluoride therapy) and caries restoration, Icon can be used to treat smooth surface and proximal carious lesions up to the first third of dentin (D-1). In a single patient visit, Icon can arrest the progression of early enamel lesions and remove white spot lesions. Icon offers a simple alternative to the “wait and see” approach, enabling immediate treatment without unnecessary loss of healthy tooth structure. Icon prevents lesion progression and increases life expectancy for the tooth. Icon also provides a highly esthetic alternative to microabrasion and other restorative treatments for cariogenic white spot lesions; white spot lesions infiltrated by Icon take on the appearance of the surrounding healthy enamel. Use of Icon is described as simple and user-friendly: After isolating the tooth with rubber dam and placing wedges to separate the teeth, the tooth surface is prepared with a 15% HCL gel to open the pore system of the lesion body. Next, the surface is rinsed, dried with ethanol, and further dried with air. The Icon Infiltrant resin, which has a high penetration coefficient, is applied onto the lesion, excess material is removed, and the material is light cured. The manufacturer recommends applying a second layer of the infiltrant, followed by additional light curing.
Icon will be available in the US by September 2009 in Proximal and Smooth Surface kits. The Icon kits provide everything necessary for treatment except the rubber dam, including specially designed dental wedges, patented perforated applicator tips for the materials, individual syringes filled with Icon-Etch, Icon-Dry (ethanol), Icon-Infiltrant, and both written and diagrammatic instructions. All syringes come in a special screw-type applicator to ensure the materials are gently and slowly extruded onto the tooth.
Icon Proximal is available in a Mini-kit with two treatment units, or a package of seven units. Each proximal treatment unit contains enough material for two proximal lesions. The Icon Smooth Surface Mini-kit includes two treatment units and is also available in packages of seven units, enough material for two or three smooth surface lesions per unit.

VISTAPure Distilled-Quality Water System Pelton & Crane |
 |
The VistaPure system produces two grades of water — distilled-quality water for autoclaves and ultra filtered non-corrosive water for bottles used with dental delivery systems.
The first stage is a prefilter that removes sediment, chlorine, chloramines, trihalomethanes and other contaminants by physical filtration, absorption and adsorption.
Next is the hyper filtration stage where pressure forces the water through a semi permeable membrane, removing contaminants at the molecular level. Impurities such as nitrates, sulfates, heavy metals, sodium, calcium and approximately 95% of other water contaminants are removed and rinsed away from the membrane and down the drain.
The water is then sent to a cartridge that contains both cationic and anionic resins for removing any remaining contaminants by a deionization process.
The final stage is a polishing filter. The finished water is then sent to a 2.7 gallon storage reservoir where it is easily dispensed for use.
The system is a standard feature of Solaris Sterilzation Centers. Added 04/23/2009 |

Master 3DS Cone Beam Imaging System E-WOO Technology USA Inc. |
 |
Designed for use in both private practice and institutional dental care facilities, the Master 3DS cone beam imaging system offers a new GPU solution--3D reconstruction time improved to less than 35 seconds with even less 3D CT scan time: 15 seconds for normal and 24 seconds for high def.
The field-of-view (FOV) selection provision enables the user to select the optimum FOV size (20x19/20x15 cm, 16x10 cm, 16 x 7 cm) and limits the radiation dosage to only the necessary level for examination contained to the region of interest. For example, the FOV size of 20 x 19cm captures a comprehensive 3D view of the entire oral and maxillofacial anatomy including the TMJ, sinus, and airways on a single 360 degree scan whereas the FOV of 16 x 7cm would capture both mandibular condyle and upper and lower occlusion area of oral anatomy.
EzImplant, the dynamic and efficient 3D image solution, offers comprehensive information for precise assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans by using the auxiliary functions such as measuring, canal tracing, cross-sectional viewing and implant simulation.
The Master 3D series provides a selection of voxel sizes which improves the overall image resolution. The smaller voxel size (0.164mm) offers the highest image quality while normal voxel sizes (0.3, 0.4mm) are suitable for diagnostic images with less reconstruction time and smaller file size.
With the new Master 3DS, there are 3 types of patient positioning – standing, seated (optional chair), and wheel-chair-confined patient accessibility.

Waterlase MD Turbo All-Tissue Dental Laser BIOLASE Technology, Inc. |
 |
Engineered to cut at speeds comparable to a high-speed handpiece, the Waterlase MD Turbo all-tissue laser operates in a non-contact mode (it never touches the tooth), using laser energy and a gentle spray of water to perform restorations without heat, vibration or pressure. A contra-angle handpiece with a computer designed optical tip replaces the traditional handpiece and its fiber tip.
The optical tip is capable of focusing the laser beam to a 500- or 700-micron diameter spot size, depending on which of two available Waterlase MD™ Turbo tips is used (MX5 – 500 microns, or MX7 – 700 microns). The beam maintains this spot diameter for a distance of approximately 1 3 mm at a distance of about 3 – 5mm from the tip, providing maximum cutting efficiency across that distance, for fast and effective Classes I –V cavity preparations.
Additionally, the Waterlase MD Turbo provides ultra-bright, shadow-free illumination and red aiming beam for enhanced visibility and tractability in the surgical field

Vanish XT Varnish 3M™ ESPE™ |
 |
Vanish™ XT Extended Contact Varnish is a site-specific, light-cured durable coating
that provides an immediate layer of protection to relieve dentinal hypersensitivity.
It is particularly helpful for protecting exposed, sensitive root surfaces, especially newly cleaned
surfaces following scaling & root planing.
The varnish remains on the tooth for six months or longer and is moisture tolerant, eliminating the need to dry or pre-treat the root surface. Its use requires no rubber dam. Offering fluoride, calcium and phosphate release, the resin-modified glass ionomer formulation significantly reduces dentin permeability by occluding dentinal tubules in-office for immediate pain relief. Vanish XT also protects the tooth surface from acid attack.
In vitro tests conducted with Vanish XT demonstrate that the coating:
• Creates a barrier against demineralization and acid erosion
• Provides protection beyond the coating
• Helps repair demineralized enamel adjacent to the coating

Panasil Initial Contact Impression Material Kettenbach LP |
 |
Because of its unique initial hydrophilicity, Panasil® initial contact “wash” impression materials can immediately overcome any remaining moisture in the mouth, resulting in an exact impression every time, even in situations with a deep sulcus or a moist environment. Panasil initial contact is highly thixotropic, with outstanding flow properties and a short intra-oral setting time. Because of its outstanding flow properties, Panasil® initial contact will enter narrow gaps and does not slump or drip off the tooth into the oral cavity.
Panasil® initial contact is available in three viscosities – X-light (very low viscosity), light (low viscosity) and regular (medium viscosity). Panasil® initial contact X-light flows evenly into extremely tight crevices and, during two-step putty-wash impressions, forms only a thin layer on the preliminary impression material. The even higher thixotropy of Panasil® initial contact light is often used for one-step impression techniques. All three viscosities will be available in a fast set.
All three Panasil® initial contact viscosities have a total working time of 1 minute, 30 seconds and an intra-oral setting time of 2 minutes, 30 seconds. When the fast set is introduced, it will shave 30 seconds off both the total working and the intra-oral setting times. All materials are available in the following delivery units: 2 × 50 mL with 12 mixing tips and 12 × 50 mL with 72 mixing tips.

Medium DV (Deep Vestibule) Mouthpiece for the Isolite Dryfield Illuminator Isolite Systems |
 |
The new Medium DV (Deep Vestibule) mouthpiece for the Isolite dryfield illuminator allows for more complete tongue retraction and a better fit in a patient’s mouth. Its expanded cheek shield shape provides improved suction that goes deeper into the vestibule. The new design also provides for additional suction capacity within the bite block itself, assuring saliva does not pool behind the mouthpiece.
The mouthpiece features an expanded shape of the tongue retractor for better control of the tongue and a better fit in the patient’s mouth; an expanded shape of the cheek shield for improved suction that goes deeper into the vestibule; and additional suction capacity within the bite block itself, to make certain that saliva doesn’t pool behind the mouthpiece.
Additionally, the mouthpiece sleeve is slightly larger so that it fits on to the Isolite i2 dry — field illuminator control head more easily (reducing the need for Isolite Mouthpiece Lubricant to attach the mouthpiece to the control head).
With the addition of the Medium DV mouthpiece to its product line-up, Isolite Systems now makes available five distinct mouthpieces which are designed to fit patients varying in size — from small children to large adults. Added 02/25/2009 |

Silginat Alginate Alternative Kettenbach LP |
 |
Silginat alginate alternative is a medium-bodied viscosity, polyvinyl siloxane impression material suitable for a variety of indications such as: anatomical models, opposing models, fabrication of temporary crown and bridges, fabricating simple removable prosthetic restorations, orthodontic appliances, splints and case study models, or for most purposes where an alginate could be used. Silginat® was designed with a low-tear resistance to avoid dislodging restorations or orthodontic appliance inadvertently. The material also has a high dimensional stability so model impressions can be kept for weeks and poured multiple times. Silginat is also highly thixotropic and flows properly under pressure.
Silginat is available in two delivery systems – 362-mL foil bags for Kettenbach’s Plug & Press automatic dispenser (5:1 ratio); and 38-mL cartridges (1:1 ratio) with an optimal volume for a single full-arch or two quadrant impressions. The total set time for Silginat, when dispensed in cartridges, is 2 minutes, 30 seconds. When Silginat is dispensed in foil bags, it has a total set time of 3 minutes.

ADSTRA Charting Treatment Planning and Charting Software ADSTRA Systems, Inc. |
 |
ADSTRA Charting Treatment Planning and Charting Software is now available as a stand-alone, after more than six years of being available only as a module (add-on) of ADSTRA’s practice management software. The Charting program integrates seamlessly with ADSTRA CLAIMS PLUS™ free management software program, which allows users to submit billing information electronically to Emdeon (formerly WebMD).
The comprehensive easy-to-use software program allows users to create and manage odontograms. Dental charts can be created for examinations, for completed treatment, and for planned treatment. There are four views of the chart: maxillary, mandibular, buccal, and palatal-lingual. The charting tools are grouped by type: general, periodontal, restorative, and endodontic. Multiple charts can be opened at the same time and pockets and recessions are represented graphically. A number of reports—or the whole chart as it’s viewed—can be printed.
ADSTRA Charting offers an array of tools for charting tooth conditions such as missing teeth, un-erupted teeth, partially erupted teeth, tooth rotation, impacted teeth, drifted, tilted, extruded, submerged, decalcification, hypercalcification, loose contact, open contact, root canal treatment, apical area, retrograde filling, pins, posts, root caries, complete crown, 3/4 crown, extraction needed, sealants, veneers, cavities, fillings, and many more. Users can set their own preferences for general chart, periodontal chart, restoration materials, and the connection between procedures and tools. Users can also define exam templates and incorporate them into the patient’s chart. Extra-oral examination and occlusal examination are built-in features.
The program also includes the ability to input, store, and review measurements for periodontal readings. Users can measure and enter gingival recession and pocket depths, and chart bleeding, suppuration, furcation, blunted papilla, cratered papilla, erosion, attrition, abrasion, and mobility. For charting plaque, a special surface map appears. Users can compare exams for values or changes in pockets or recessions, and calculate indices.

Accupal Palatal Anesthesia Injection Preconditioning System Accupal Inc. |
 |
ACCUPAL is a cordless, compact, handheld device that effectively pre-conditions the oral tissue to receive virtually pain-free palatal or other intraoral dental injections.
ACCUPAL incorporates four known and proven pain-reducing theories into one economical, user-friendly device:
- ACCUPAL incorporates the "Pain Gate" theory to energize the dental tissue in and around the site to be punctured by the needle.
- ACCUPAL's ultrasonic tissue stimulation disrupts the tissue injection site to allow standard topical gel to pre-condition the injection site, thus further reducing the needle’s pain-producing effects.
- ACCUPAL vibrates the needle at the injection site. The pain-reducing effects of direct needle vibration are well documented as having a positive effect on injection comfort.
- ACCUPAL ensures that the clinician inserts the needle bevel at its narrowest point, which provides the most minimally invasive path possible and reduced tissue damage to deliver a consistently comfortable palatal injection.
The economical ACCUPAL is available online at www.accupal.com. The complete starter package, which includes the ACCUPAL cordless handpiece, 50 disposable tips, a patient education CD-ROM and a clinician training CD-ROM, is priced at $479.00 plus shipping and handling. Power Swabs Tooth Whitener/Stain Remover Power Swabs Corporation |
 |
Intended for professional chairside use, Power Swabs® are convenient and versatile "liquid-filled" swabs designed to thoroughly clean and whiten teeth by removing tough, deep-seated enamel stains without traditional peroxide bleaches or abrasives. This product also dramatically reduces dentinal hypersensitivity associated with bleaching by employing 'wetting agents' that help to prevent 'dehydration-related' dental pain that is associated with many professional power whitening procedures. The swabs feature "Foaming Action Cleaning Technology" FACT™ Technology which combines solvents, wetting agents, detergents, stain softeners and effervescents. Power Swabs® have shown the ability in independent clinical trials to dramatically reduce transient dentinal hypersensitivity and to also significantly enhance the results of many cosmetic dentistry procedures, such as vital tooth bleaching.
Because of their deep cleaning ability, Power Swabs® reduce the time needed for other whitening products to be effective.
Power Swabs™ are not the same as the “activator” swabs that are supplied with bleaching kits. They have a stain removal (cleaning) function, they are physiological pH 6.1 and they re-hydrate enamel to reduce sensitivity Added 05/15/2008 |
