The CB MercuRay is specifically designed for scanning the head and neck using this special x-ray method. The x-ray source for CB MercuRay is a low-energy fixed anode tube similar to that used in dental panoramic machines. The CB MercuRay system uses cone shaped x-ray beams with a special image intensifier and a solid state CCD sensor for capturing the image.
