| The Astrobrush polishing system is designed to achieve high gloss, lustrous polishing without the use of polishing paste. Indicated for high gloss polishing of composites, compomers, and glass ionomer restorations, Astrobrush complements the Astropol finishing and polishing system.
The system comprises three shapes of brushes (eg, small cup, large cup, and point) that contain the polishing medium silicon carbide integrated directly into their bristle fibers. As the bristles are worn during the polishing action, fresh abrasive polishing medium is exposed on the surface. As a result, Astrobrush demonstrates efficient, consistently high polishing performance.
The small cup Astrobrush is ideal for polishing anterior and cervical restorations, occlusal surfaces, removing stains close to the gingival, as well as working in confined areas. The large cup is suitable for polishing large surfaces in the posterior region, as well as removing stains. For polishing occlusal fissures, proximal areas, and concave surfaces, the Astrobrush point is indicated.
The Astrobrush® polishing system is delivered in an assortment package that includes 5 each of the large cups, small cups, and points. Refill packages containing 6 instruments in one shape also are available.
