When the margin of a filling is right along the gumline, it makes it difficult to ensure that clean bonding occurred. Using the Sol Diode Laser from Denmat, we were able to perform a slight gingivectomy at the gumline. This allowed us to place the filling in a bloodless field with good visual access.
