Premade provisional crowns are a quick way to place a temporary restoration. These crowns are often fabricated from polycarbonates or other resin materials, enabling them to provide esthetics close to natural teeth. Less esthetic metal crowns also are available. The crowns are available in a range of sizes and shades, as well as different molds in order to provide the correct temporary crown for any area of the mouth. These crowns can simply be removed from their packaging and placed with a temporary cement or another temporary adhesive system to cover an implant site, a preparation or any other treatment area that is not ready for the placement of a permanent restoration. Having a supply of premade temporary crowns on hand is a good idea for any practice.
