New Dental Product: Chairside Zirconia Blocks Powered by Roland DGA

The new Chairside Zirconia blocks powered by Roland DGA are designed for use with the company’s DGSHAPE DWX-42W Series wet-milling solutions.

Unlike traditional monolithic dry-milled zirconia materials, these blocks feature a 3-layer gradient design (25% incisal, 25% transition, and 50% dentin) to create restorative esthetics with natural translucency while maintaining optimal zirconia strength properties, according to a press release. The Chairside Zirconia blocks are available through authorized Roland DGA dental resellers.

Because of its multi-layered composition, Chairside Zirconia does not require sintering or additional finishing. It has an average flexural strength of 500 MPa without any firing and is about 4.0 µm. A coarse microstructure combined with fracture toughness and low scratch hardness allows for optimal milling capabilities and results. Its particle structure and density make it well suited for wet milling.

The blocks come in various shades and sizes and can be used for single unit, anterior and posterior restorations. Chairside Zirconia is compatible with Roland DGA’s DGSHAPE DWX-42W Series Chairside wet-milling solutions and ZGB-125D, ZGB-50D, ZGB25D, and ZGB2-75D milling tools. A starter kit, which includes zirconia blocks in two different shades, three ZGB milling tools and polishing paste, is available.
