New Dental Product: OnX Tough 2 3D Printed Resin From SprintRay

SprintRay recently introduced OnX Tough 2, what the company describes as the first 3D printing resin FDA-cleared for fixed implant-supported dentures.

OnX Tough 2 is part of an integrated, streamlined 3D printing chairside workflow that enables dentists to produce full arch, fixed denture restorations, according to a press release. The tough material has a lifelike translucency for high-quality same-day smiles. When the resin is part of the SprintRay ecosystem, clinicians can 3D print up to 10 fixed dentures in 30 minutes. Traditional processes involve as many as six patient visits and extensive fabrication time.

The 3D printing resin was formulated using proprietary NanoFusion™ technology, a process that suspends the optimal amount of ceramic in the formulation, minimizing mixing. This process enhances structural integrity, making restorations printed with OnX Tough 2 exceptionally tough and suitable for implant-supported dentures.

OnX Tough 2 builds on the chemistry from its predecessor, OnX Tough, and is formulated with new pigments for enhanced optical performance. These pigments deliver high-precision shade matching and improved color stability. Fixed dentures printed with OnX Tough 2 feature optimal radiopacity for imaging diagnostics, treatment planning, and monitoring healing and progress.

The resin is available in shades Bleach, A1 and A2.
