Desktop Health’s Flexcera Smile Ultra+ Validated for Use on the Carbon Digital Manufacturing Platform

Desktop Health, a brand of Desktop Metal, and Carbon recently partnered to validate Flexcera Family Resins on the Carbon Digital Manufacturing Platform, with Flexcera Smile Ultra+ the first.

This expands access to nanoceramic resin to hundreds of high-volume dental labs around the world, according to a press release. The Class II material is indicated for permanent, 3D printable dental restorations.

Flexcera Smile Ultra+ offers optimal strength, life-like esthetics, and long-term performance for permanent 3D-printed restorations that include dentures, crowns, bridges and veneers. It has more than three years of research and development behind it and leverages proprietary long-chain chemistry. The versatile material, one of several Flexcera brand resins available today, can be used to quickly produce customized permanent or temporary solutions.

The material is available in the U.S. and will soon be available in the EU.

Later this year, Carbon and Desktop Health plan to release Flexcera Base, adding a denture material with optimal fracture resistance to Carbon's material portfolio.
