New Dental Product: OnX Tough 3D Printing Material From SprintRay

Sprint Ray recently introduced OnX Tough, a next generation ceramic resin designed for 3D printing dental prosthetics.

The material was created with SprintRay's proprietary NanoFusion™ technology, allowing clinicians to deliver same-day dental prosthetics with optimal durability and lifelike translucency, according to a press release.

Conventional methods to manufacture dental prosthetics involve sending digital or analog impressions to a lab, with turnaround times averaging between 3 to 4 weeks. First generation 3D printing technologies enabled in-office manufacturing of dental prosthetics, but durability and toughness were lacking.

The company’s new NanoFusion™ technology addresses that shortcoming. NanoFusion™ materials feature a novel composition and form dense polymer chains to deliver dental prostheses with fracture toughness five times that of first generation technology. The composition also combines translucency and opacity to mimic natural dentition.

OnX Tough is fully integrated with the SprintRay 3D printing workflow.
