Dentsply Sirona recently introduced a cartridge and mixing tip system designed to make the application of conventional impression material easier and more efficient.
The optimized mixing tip and cartridge system, which features new mixing cube technology, improves mix quality and reduces waste, according to a press release.
The mixing tip features a turning wing and small alignment pin that makes it easy to fix to the cartridge. The corresponding connection mechanism reduces the risk of cross-contamination between the base and catalyst components.
The new integrated 50 mL cartridge and mixing tip system requires a one-time bleed before first use that’s good for the life of the cartridge. When combined with the reduced-volume cannula, this leads to less waste and increases the number of uses per cartridge.
The color-coded cartridges and mixing tips help connect cartridges with the appropriate tip. The new system is compatible with standard hand dispensers and mechanical mixers on the market.
This system will gradually replace the existing system and will improve application features for brands like Aquasil Ultra+.
