Carestream Dental recently announced new features to its Sensei Cloud Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), all designed to improve practice efficiencies and enhance patient care.
The new features include soft tissue charting, customizable questionnaires and a lightbar to help with patient flow, according to a press release.
The software’s new soft tissue chart enables dentists to keep detailed records of all findings from oral cancer screenings, complete with notes and condition labels on an anatomical chart. Keeping track of these findings in a clinical record can help increase early detection and lead to successful treatment.
The addition of the custom questionnaires makes it easier for team members to process new patients. Practices can create unique digital forms that walk team members through the documentation of any data using various prompts, controls and stock answers. It’s even possible to record medical history in the patient chart as a questionnaire. This makes it easy to avoid repetitive data entry and to review the data later.
The lightbar feature helps practices move patients through the office more efficiently, improving patient flow and time management. A seated que flyout bar shows when the patient was seated; time and chair of their scheduled appointment; provider names for the appointment; and appointment type. The feature also lets team members direct doctors to the right patient to keep the appointment on schedule. Rather than leaving the patient, team members can use Call the Doctor to alert the dentist a patient is ready and in what operatory.
The SaaS is part of the larger Sensei platform.
