Komet USA recently released the EndoPilot endodontic motor.
The powerful torque and speed controlled motor helps general practitioners and endodontists complete endodontic procedures more efficiently while ensuring patient safety, according to a press release.
EndoPilot features a motor function that stops once the preparation length has been reached. It also has an integrated apex locator that shows precise file position in real time. This allows for customizable preparation length at the apex motor and prevents chip compaction by reducing torque in the vicinity of the apex.
The endodontic motor comes with a fully insulated handpiece that optimizes apex location in endodontic procedures, a 7-inch touchscreen that makes it easy to set the depth of the preparation relative to the apex and a wireless foot pedal rheostat to eliminate cords, further improving ergonomics and portability.
EndoPilot also features ReFlex motion, a patented, counterclockwise, intelligent movement. ReFlex motion begins with a left-cutting rotary motion and then transitions to a reciprocating motion when the motor senses resistance. This decreases torsional stress on the file, prevents file jamming and minimizes the risk of file separation. ReFlex motion is exclusively available with Komet USA’s Procodile file system on the EndoPilot.
A pre-loaded file library containing various popular file systems and a rechargeable battery that supports 15 hours of continuous operation are among other features.
