New Dental Products: Permanent Crown Resin and Soft Tissue Starter Pack From Formlabs

Formlabs recently introduced two new materials: Permanent Crown Resin and Soft Tissue Starter Pack.

These materials make it possible for practices and labs to further digitize restorative dentistry and offer patients 3D printed long-term restorations such as fillings, crowns, bridges and implants, according to a press release.

Permanent Crown Resin, with a digital workflow developed in partnership with BEGO, is a tooth-colored, ceramic-filled resin for 3D printing permanent single crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers. It’s described as “a high-quality solution with a low upfront equipment cost.” The resin has a low per-part cost, giving practices and labs of all sizes access to 3D printing.

The resin can be used to create high strength, long-term restorations with an accurate and precise fit. Its low water absorption and smooth finish decrease the tendency for restorations to age, discolor or accumulate plaque.

The Soft Tissue Starter Pack features the company’s Flexible 80A Resin and three color pigments, enabling dental laboratories to create customizable Soft Tissue Resin to print gingiva masks for implant models. With its reliable printing and consistent digital workflow, Soft Tissue Starter Pack enables dental users to plan implant-based restorations more accurately, minimizing chairside adjustment time.
