Ultradent Products recently released the Umbrella soft tissue retractor.
The retractor is designed for easy placement and patient comfort, according to a press release. After pressing the two tabs together, clinicians can place the retractor into the patient’s mouth, where it pops open.
The retractor helps the patient’s mouth stay open in a natural, comfortable range while allowing the patient to fully open or close as needed. It also opens the space between the teeth, lips and cheeks to encourage saliva to accumulate away from dentition, improving HVE access.
The tongue guard enables the retractor to ease itself around soft tissue for optimal access. This also gives the tongue a relaxing place to settle. The tongue is gently raised to the roof of the mouth, which allows for easy swallowing for the patient and easy access for the clinician.
The Umbrella can be used for a variety of procedures, including Class II restorations, sealants, ortho bonding and whitening.
