Carestream Dental recently introduced Evo Editions to the CS 8100 and CS 8100SC family of products. These systems are compact panoramic and CBCT versions of the originals.
The systems feature software updates that use Tomosharp technology to produce enhanced panoramic images, according to a press release.
The updates provide greater tolerance to imperfect positioning. The entire jaw anatomy can be captured in one acquisition, and then algorithms analyze where the anatomy is the sharpest to automatically reconstruct the best panoramic image possible. The CS Adapt Anatomic family of filters deliver a new processing engine for optimal panoramic and cephalometric images.
The 3D systems give clinicians easy access to the same features as the company’s CS 9600 CBCT system. CS MAR reduces metal artifacts and starburst affects that can make it difficult to view an area of interest. The CS MAR filter provides a clearer view so clinicians can be more confident in their diagnoses. The live comparison tool enables users to toggle back and forth between views with and without CS MAR to help confirm diagnosis.
The new Advanced Noise Reduction (ANR) feature reduces noise and preserves image details. This feature is well suited for 75-micron resolution scans. It improves small details like a lateral canal or crack as well as the perception of cortical bone edge, ligament space and soft tissues.
As multi-modality systems, the CS 8100 3D and CS 8100SC 3D Evo Editions also feature Tomosharp technology and the CS Adapt Anatomic filters for 2D imaging.
The Evo Editions of the CS 8100, CS 8100SC, CS 8100 3D and CS 8100SC 3D include all the same features as the CS 8100, including its compact footprint and image quality. All Evo Editions are supported by CS Imaging version 8, an imaging platform that centralizes and displays 2D images, 3D images and CAD/CAM data in one software for more comprehensive diagnoses, optimized treatment workflows and enhanced case presentations.
Clinicians who already own a system from the CS 8100 family or CS 8100 3D family can easily upgrade.
