Align Technology recently introduced Invisalign Virtual Appointment and Invisalign Virtual Care, making it possible for dentists to manage a variety of services even when they’re not in the same location as their patients.
Through these virtual solutions, dentists can connect with existing Invisalign patients to ensure continuity of care, according to a press release.
Both solutions were in pilot phases until recently, with their launch accelerated to support doctors in managing their practices and patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through the Invisalign Virtual Appointment tool, dentists can easily schedule and host HIPPA-compliant video appointments with patients. Doctors and team members can schedule video consultations to discuss Invisalign treatment.
Invisalign Virtual Care is built into the My Invisalign app, and can be used for remote consultations, treatment progress assessment, and to communicate adjustments or concerns during treatment. Patients can use the intuitive My Invisalign App to stay engaged in their treatment and send progress photos to their doctor. The dentist will review the photos on the Invisalign Doctor Site and communicate any needed instructions to patients to ensure their treatment is on track.
Both solutions were launched in the United States and Canada in March and are being expanded in all the company’s major country markets over the next few weeks.
