New Dental Product: Nexus Universal Resin Cement from KaVo Kerr

KaVo Kerr recently introduced a new universal resin cement: Nexis Universal.

The resin cement makes it possible for clinicians to cut procedure steps in half while also offering a flexible workflow, according to a press release. It also reportedly offers up to two times higher bond strength on any substrate.

Clinicians can decide if they want to use a primer, light cure, use a dual-cure activator or skip those steps entirely with a quick dark cure. Nexis Universal offers total dark cure compatibility with leading universal bonding agents, including the company’s OptiBond adhesives. Nexis is available in a kit that includes OptiBond Universal.

Nexus Universal offers easy One-Peel™ cleanup and includes a Chroma cement option that offers both One-Peel cleanup and a smart new pink indicator. The cement’s pink color fades to indicate the optimal window for excess cement clean up. Clinicians also can tack-cure or self-cure for more control over single or multiple crowns.

Featuring a proprietary redox indicator system, the cement virtually eliminates discoloration for better color stability and long-term esthetics, making it well suited for ceramic and porcelain CAD/CAM restorations. It is compatible with a full range of indirect restorations as well, including resin, zirconia, gold, base metal alloys, alumina, lithium disilicate (e.max), titanium, PFM, and PFZ.
