New Dental Products: Denture Base Resin and Denture Teeth Resin 3D Printing Materials from FormLabs

FormLabs is debuting a pair of new 3D printing resins for digital denture production at the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show.

Designed to provide dental laboratories with an efficient and cost-effective digital denture production workflow, the new Denture Base Resin and Denture Teeth Resin materials are Class II long-term biocompatible materials, according to a press release and information on the company's website. Both materials are designed for use with the company's Form 2 3D printer.

The new workflow is a straightforward process involving a digital scan, and digital design of the dentures. The denture base and denture teeth are then printed separately and post-processed. The teeth are then inserted into the denture base and the parts are cured to bond them together. The dentures can then be finished and polished for highly esthetic results.

Now available for sale in the United States, the denture base material is available in shade LP, while the denture teeth resin is available in shade A2. Additional shades will be available in the future.
