The CS 8100 family of extraoral imaging systems from Carestream Dental continues to be among the company's most successful product lines as the 20,000 unit recently shipped.
The milestone shipment comes less than two years after the 10,000th CS 8100 unit shipped, according to a press release. The product line includes the CS 8100 digital panoramic system, the CS 8100 3D cone beam system, the CS 8100SC cephalometric imaging system, and the CS 8100SC 3D combination imaging system.
Carestream Dental representatives credit the imaging systems' popularity to their compact design and the flexibility to include an imaging solution that can fit into any practice. The systems all continue to be enhanced via software upgrades, and 2D systems can be enhanced to become a 3D model or have a cephalometric arm attached for new imaging capabilities.
