Designed to make digital production of dental prosthetics more flexible and efficient, Dental System 2018 from 3Shape includes features based on feedback and best practices from dental lab technicians who use the software platform.
Improved functionalities include the ability to combine almost any type of dental scan including surface scans, pre-prep scans, bite scans, and full face scans. The updated software also adds the ability to save and return to designs at any step of the workflow. This feature makes the software better suited for use with complex cases, according to a press release. Additional updates include the ability to create precise contacts with crown designs that automatically snap to the antagonist or neighboring tooth, faster bridge and bar design with automatic connectors, the additional 3Shape Smile Design simulations, enhanced denture processes, and in-house clear aligner production workflows.
The software platform remains an open system with the ability to integrate and connect with a range of digital dental equipment solutions including mills and 3D printers for production of almost any type of restoration.
