New Dental Products: LFAB, DFAB and XCELL 6000PD 3D Printers from DWS Systems

New Dental Products: LFAB, DFAB and XCELL 6000PD 3D Printers from DWS Systems

DWS Systems recently announced the formation of a business unit dedicated to digital dentistry, along with the introduction of three new 3D printers: the LFAB, DFAB and XCELL 6000PD. All three will be on display at the Chicago Midwinter Meeting.

The LFAB and DFAB are autonomous 3D printers, according to a press release.

The LFAB is designed to produce dental models, surgical guides and prosthetics for dental labs, while the DFAB is designed for the dentist’s office and can quickly deliver high-precision color-matched prosthetics.

DWS also has developed Temporis for use in its FAB series of printers. The new class of biocompatible material offers long term use that meets European Union Class IIa invasive medical device requirements. As part of its North American expansion plans, DWS also plans to seek required FDA clearances.

The FAB printers are for dentists, prosthodontists and lab technicians and are designed to increase efficiency and reduce the number of procedures necessary to produce dental prostheses. The printers can produce up to five-element precision bridges in less than 20 minutes.

Both the LFAB and DFAB 3D printers deliver customizable colored restorations using light curable composites. The DFAB printer can replicate patient-specific color gradient using DWS’s Photoshade technology. Dentists can color match and 3D print a functional patient-specific restoration in their office during a single patient visit.

The XCELL 6000PD is a fully automated dental 3D printer that delivers a full range of dental treatments. The high-speed 3D printer increases operational efficiency with a cartridge system that makes it easy for dental technicians to change printing materials.

The all-in-one automation eliminates the post-processing labor associated with washing and curing. The XCELL 6000PD can address a range of dental applications including dental models, temporary prosthetics, castable copings and aligner manufacturing. It also can be used for surgical guides, partial frameworks, implant models for analogs, and restorations, such as crowns and bridges.
