MouthWatch Intraoral Camera Used on Ronald McDonald Care Mobile to Reach Underserved Kids

The MouthWatch Intraoral Camera is being used on the “Tooth Truck,” a Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, to reach underserved children in the Ozarks.

Dr. Sarah Cimino, who works with the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, has been using MouthWatch for a few months, according to a press release. The camera makes it possible to show children areas where they’re not brushing well or where a cavity has developed.

The screenings are designed to get kids excited about taking care of their teeth and to educate them about the importance of prevention. Most of the Tooth Truck patients have never been to a dentist.

MouthWatch's outreach program for public health initiatives provides donations and discounts so programs can assess intraoral cameras. Pilot partnerships between MouthWatch and public health programs are also extending access to dental care with MouthWatch's teledentistry solution, TeleDent.
