VOCO recently released the V-Posil VPS impression system.
The flavorless impression system combines the working time of a regular-set material with the short setting time of a fast-set material, according to a press release. It offers up to 2 minutes of adjustable working time, giving dentists control over the pace of the procedure, while the 2-minute thermo-activated set time improves patient comfort and limits procedural time.
The material’s rapid snap-set reduces time spent in the critical zone by up to 50%, minimizing the risk of potential distortion caused by human error and the need for retakes.
Featuring a low polyether-like contact angle of less than 10 degrees, V-Posil’s hydrophilicity displaces fluids to create an enhanced contact to the dental anatomy, yielding more precise impressions. It also provides optimal tear strength and elastic recovery to ensure dimensional accuracy of the impression after removal. The post-set contact angle of less than 6 degrees provides a post-set hydrophilicity that leads to more accurate stone models for better fitting restorations.
The material comes in four different viscosities, including two tray materials in V-Posil Putty Fast and Heavy Soft Fast and two wash materials in V-Posil Light Fast and X-Light Fast. Indications include the full range of impression techniques as well as reline/rebase impressions and impressions for removable dental prostheses.
All four viscosities are available in 50 ml cartridge refills. The V-Posil Heavy Soft Fast, formulated for both easy loading and removal after it is set, is also available in the 380 ml automix Dynamic Dispenser cartridge.
